Jim Garman, Managing Director, Global Head of Real Estate, Asset Management at Goldman Sachs Asset and Wealth Management

Presentation: Dislocation and Megatrends – The Future of Real Estate

Jim is the Global Head of Real Estate within Goldman Sachs Asset Management.  In this role, he is responsible for the design and implementation of the division’s global real estate investment strategy.  Jim is co-chair of the Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Private Real Estate Investment Committee and a member of the Partnership Committee and the AWM Private Urban Investment Group Investment Committee.  In 2023, he relocated from London to New York.

Previously, Jim served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management International, Head of EMEA Alternatives and Head of EMEA Real Estate.  He is a former member of the European Management Committee.  Jim joined Goldman Sachs in 1992 and was named Managing Director in 2004 and Partner in 2006.

Jim is a member of the Investment Advisory Board of the Cambridge University Endowment Fund and serves on the Cambridge University Land Economy Advisory Board.  Jim earned an MA in Land Economy from Cambridge University in 1989.
