Ryu Konishi, Managing Director, Sustainable Investments, LaSalle Investment Management
Ryunosuke (Ryu) Konishi is an investment manager with a specific focus on sustainability and net
zero carbon investing. Prior to his current role, he served as head of acquisitions and investor
relations for a logistics-focused, publicly traded Japanese REIT, LaSalle Logiport REIT, as well as
managing acquisitions for the LaSalle Asia Opportunities Fund IV and Japanese separate accounts.
Ryu began his investment management career in 2003 and has significant experience in commercial real estate debt and equity investments across the capital structure in both the United States and Japan. He joined LaSalle in 2014 from Hanover Street Capital Partners, the Special Situations Group of Deutsche Bank in the US. Prior to Hanover Street, he was an advisor to Sciame Development Inc. and Aozora Bank and a Vice President at Aetos Capital. His first role in real estate investment management was with Lehman Brothers in the Global Real Estate and Real Estate Private Equity groups in Tokyo and New York, respectively. He also practiced as an architect for three years with Beyer Blinder Belle in New York.
Ryu holds a Master of Science in Real Estate, a Master of Architecture, and a Bachelor of Science in
Architectural Design, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is fluent in both English
and Japanese.
