Albert Saiz, Director of the Center for Real Estate and Daniel Rose Associate Professor of Urban Economics and Real Estate, spoke at the the Midyear Mortgage Update and Conference June 9th in Natick, MA.
Saiz’s presentation. “Housing Supply Constraints and Housing Prices: A Long Term View”, explored the supply side of housing: construction costs, natural constraints, land use policies, local regulations, and their impact on housing prices, affordability, and the volatility of the housing cycle, with some implications for mortgage underwriting.
