Christopher hails from a civil engineering background with a vision to develop quality and affordable housing in Indonesia’s underdeveloped cities; a vision he aims to accomplish through exploring transformative practice frameworks at MSRED.

Prior to arriving at MIT, Christopher studied at NTU’s Civil Engineering and served as the institution’s President Research Scholar. He then dedicated his summer 2016 to learn about project management and psychology at UC Berkeley.

Christopher worked for two world-class structural consultant companies in Singapore: Meinhardt and KTP Consultants. These experiences have equipped him with the crucial technical skills to design and build affordable structures and the mindset to stay flexible, versatile, and creative.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore, he used his freer time for his family’s company, PT Dua Sinar Duta Jaya. Upon coming back to Indonesia, Christopher pursued his professional direction by co-founding a digital construction company, BuildIn Construction, with his Papuan-born classmate. In less than one year, he has succeeded in building several houses using full digital construction, as well as transforming his family business.

After graduating, Christopher will return to his home country and continue purchasing lands, building houses, and joining tenders. By winning local authorities’ trust, he hopes to expand his construction business into a real estate company that collaborates with the Indonesian government.
