B.S. Civil and Architectural Engineering, Duke University

Jason is a dual masters MCP/MSRED candidate at MIT; a licensed civil engineer (PE) with 5+ years of engineering/design/planning experience; and a community builder with a passion for placemaking and spaces of belonging.

Most recently, Jason worked with Skanska Commercial Development on a mixed-use project in Houston’s Montrose District, a historic LGBTQ+ neighborhood, where he conducted financial modeling and advocated for community engagement, sustainability, and cultural preservation. He’s also provided market insights as a research intern for Ernst & Young’s Real Estate, Hospitality, and Construction sector. Previously, as an interdisciplinary engineer and design practitioner at Sasaki Associates, Jason collaborated with landscape architects, planners, urban designers, and ecologists to co-create sustainable and resilient site designs. His portfolio spans geographies and typologies, including the US Capitol Complex Master Plan, Bonnet Springs Park, Northwestern University’s Infrastructure Master Plan, Princeton University’s Athletics Facilities, Reston Town Center, The Ellinikon, and Town Branch Park, among others.

At MIT, Jason seeks to expand his skillsets in commercial real estate development, planning, and project management. In his academic pursuits, he also hopes to explore how neighborhoods (particularly LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities) express social identity through the built environment. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil and architectural engineering at Duke University.

Outside of work and school, Jason served as the inaugural director for NAAAP PRIDE, a group dedicated to LGBTQ+ Asian-American professionals in greater Boston. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, CrossFit, and exploring cities.
