Joanne McHugh

Joanne McHugh is the Academic & Communications Assistant at MIT’s Center for Real Estate (CRE), within the School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P).  She joined CRE in September 2021 and has enjoyed supporting the MIT-MSRED students and CRE staff.  Her MIT career began at the Sloan School of Management employed in multiple research centers over a span of many years, sometimes simultaneously with FRC, ICRMOT, CCI and POPI. Continued on at MIT’s Mechanical Engineering Sea Grant College Program, working for the Director and program.  Afterwards, changed directions by joining MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory located in Lexington, MA in the Ethics & Compliance Assurance Office (ECAO) within the Director’s Office (DO).  There she held a secret security clearance before re-joining MIT’s campus again to her current role at CRE.

Her interests including biking, hiking, golf, piano, volunteering, traveling and spending time with friends and family.  Also enjoys a very rewarding volunteer effort at the annual one-week overnight summer camp as a camp counselor, working with special needs children & adults at Exceptional Citizen’s (EC Week), Camp Fatima in Gilmanton, NH.  In addition, assisting events with adults with disabilities at Opportunity Works on Saturday’s quarterly.
