Joon Tae joins MIT with 7 years of experience in multinational real estate transactions. Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Joon Tae received his J.D. from Hanyang University and was admitted to the Korean Bar.
Prior to joining MIT, Joon Tae spent 4 years at Lee & Ko, a full-service law firm, where he advised institutional investors in the acquisition of overseas real properties located in the US, Europe and Australia. Joon Tae closed over 100 equity/debt transactions valued up to US$500M, which underlying assets included trophy offices, industrial, multifamily and hotels. Prior to this, Joon Tae served as an in-house counsel for Mirae Asset Global Investment, a leading asset management company, where he acquired practical experience on various asset management related matters including alternative investments.
At MIT, Joon Tae is excited to expand his interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to be applied in an innovative and sustainable way. Having had a competitive experience on the legal sides of the commercial real estate industry, Joon Tae aims to build insight on how real estate policies could be improved to address transparent and systematic procedures mutually beneficial for both the public and private sectors.
When free, Joon Tae can be found swimming, following basketball games, or reading.
