B.A. Rochester Institute of Technology
Masters in Urban Technology, Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia
With a fascination for the future of urbanism and architecture, Ocean brings an unorthodox background to the field of real estate development. His experience in property management, urban design, ecology, and psychology informs the passion for real estate that brings him to MIT.
Ocean is committed to the formation and implementation of a broad spectrum of innovations in the creation of human habitats. He believes that cities, architecture, and the process of construction itself have a central role to play in addressing the most important challenges of the 21st century.
As an urban technologist, communicator, and now developer, Ocean is promoting and helping to build high-performance urban environments. His work is driven by a belief in the transformative power of technology and a dedication to crossing disciplinary boundaries in pursuit of innovation. An advocate for the biological genius of ecology, he aspires to affect structural changes in how America engages in urban development via policy, investment, and entrepreneurship.
Ocean holds an interdisciplinary bachelor of science from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Masters in urban technology from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. A consummate traveler and urbanite, he has lived in ten different cities over the course of the past decade. Never one to shy away from contrasts, he spends his free time in the wilderness enjoying the thrill of cycling, skiing, rock climbing, and scuba diving.
