Scott Poirier is President of ProBuilder Financial, LLC, a direct, hard money lender, providing private acquisition, rehab, and construction loans to real estate builders and developers in New England. Before that, he spent over 20 years in the banking industry at various financial institutions after serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army.

Scott discovered his passion for real estate toward the end of his banking career after transferring to the real estate group at NewStar Financial to work out distressed loans following the 2008 crash. He gained valuable experience underwriting and managing a portfolio of loans for various types of commercial real estate, including anchored and unanchored retail, office, industrial/warehouse, and multi-family properties. In addition, Scott has successfully completed several single-family residential fix and flips.

At the Center for Real Estate, Scott intends to gain insights into large multi-family and subdivision developments and explore ideas on value-added zoning that may lead to opportunities to partner with local municipalities to create affordable housing. Scott also wants to study how technology, including big data and artificial intelligence, can increase efficiency, profitability, and improve decision-making in real estate.

Scott received a B.S. from the United States Military Academy and an MBA from Yale University. He is licensed as both a Construction Supervisor and Real Estate Agent in Massachusetts. Scott lives in Wellesley with his wife and teenage son, and daughter. He grew up in Hawaii and has lived in Germany, London, and numerous locations in the U.S.
