Shermika joins MIT with 5 years of experience as a Corporate Finance Professional. She recently worked with the Global Real Estate firm AEW Capital Management where she played a supportive role as an Analyst with the company.
Shermika has also pursued an industry mentorship with CREW Boston, the region’s leading professional organization promoting the advancement of women within the commercial real estate industry. From this program, she gained opportunities for professional growth and business development. She has honed her skills in problem-solving and business communication while expanding on her understanding of real estate through multiple courses. She intends to use this training to excel throughout her time at MIT where she hopes to further research the financial and analytical side of real estate finance.
Shermika has a passion for real estate that has led to life-changing opportunities. She is eager to build on that passion during her tenure at MIT through collaboration opportunities with peers and affiliates of diverse backgrounds. She approaches MIT, intending to expand her knowledge of real estate finance, design, and technology. Shermika is passionate about international investing and affordable housing solutions.
Her long-term goal is to become a successful and socially responsible Real Estate Investor, Developer, and Entrepreneur. She hopes to impact stakeholders positively and, by extension, have a meaningful influence on the world.
