B.A. Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Applied Sciences Potsdam
Luca comes to MIT with four years of professional experience in the construction industry. After completing his B.A. in Architecture and Urban Planning, he joined emproc, a German construction and project management firm focusing on real estate development in Berlin.
His professional journey includes the construction of two of Europe’s largest current zoo projects: Berlin’s $26 million rhino enclosure and the $50 million elephant enclosure. In these projects, he was responsible for coordinating and supervising all construction phases. Additionally, Luca has created and implemented construction logistics and process schemes for multiple projects with a combined construction value of $350 million, ensuring efficient execution and adherence to environmental regulations.
At MIT, Luca aims to explore the intersection of commercial considerations with architectural creativity and social responsibility. He is particularly interested in how global real estate markets are influenced by technological advancements and how they adapt to increasing environmental pressures. His goal is to use these insights to develop innovative approaches and contribute to the creation of sustainable and resilient urban communities.
