William Wheaton discusses changes in US housing markets

In The News

During MIT’s Independent Activities Period (IAP) Professor Emeritus William Wheaton gave a presentation on housing markets over the years in the US, discussing trends, changes, and new challenges.

A member of the MIT faculty since 1972, Professor Wheaton helped to develop the field of urban economics by pioneering the theory of how land, location, and housing markets jointly operate. He helped organize the MIT Center for Real Estate, and teaches the program’s core course in Real Estate Economics.

Check out this video of his talk, “US Housing since 2001: What’s different this time?” for some current insights into housing in America.
