Bachelor’s degree (A.B) in Architecture, certificate in Urban Studies, summa cum laude, Princeton University

Alissa Serfozo is a dual Master of Science in Real Estate Development and Master of Architecture candidate at MIT. She focuses on adaptive reuse and sustainability, aiming to create efficient, resilient spaces.

With four years of experience at Bernard Tschumi Architects in New York and Puhl és Dajka Építész Iroda in Hungary, Alissa has developed her design and project management skills on capital projects and urban design initiatives across Europe, North America, and China. In 2023, she was part of Shawmut Design & Construction’s project management team for MIT’s adaptive reuse of the Metropolitan Warehouse, a future hub for interdisciplinary design, research, and education.

Alissa is also an experienced editor and writer, advising on academic publications, digital media, and book projects. Her graduate research focuses on sustainable real estate investing, lower-carbon building technologies, and integrating residential pockets within industrial zones in U.S. urban centers. She is particularly interested in development strategies that link cities to rural communities, enhancing social, economic, and multigenerational cohesion. Through her dual degree, she seeks to revitalize existing structures while incorporating innovative technical and social solutions.
