Chip Weintraub is a Lecturer at the MIT Center for Real Estate and a graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management. He teaches Commercial Real Estate Investment Strategy, a course that takes a pragmatic approach to CRE investment decision making. The class uses current and original case studies and materials alongside a lineup of industry expert guest speakers to analyze and assess CRE investment strategies in today’s specific economic environment.
Chip served in various roles at Spaulding & Slye Investments (SSI), formerly a division of JLL, for eighteen years until 2025. Most recently, he led SSI’s Texas acquisitions team as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and oversaw the firm’s national investment research and strategy team, creating its Advanced Manufacturing and Technology investment fund structure. He initiated SSI’s Central Texas investment platform in 2018 and grew it into SSI’s largest market by 2025.
Prior to his time as an MIT student, Chip owned and operated Realty Resource Associates (RRA), a full-service real estate investment advisor and service provider, where he drove consistent 20%+ annual revenue growth, leading to a successful exit sale in 2004.
He is currently developing an independent research-based commercial real estate investment platform to identify and analyze investment strategies to capitalize on historic technological, demographic, trade, and fiscal shifts currently disrupting and reshaping CRE investment fundamentals in the United States and globally.
