Emerson Rogers

Emerson brings over five years of real estate development and construction experience to MIT. Prior to his career in real estate, he worked in finance and tech. At MIT, he plans to accelerate his understanding in all facets of real estate development and to learn from the diverse experience of classmates, faculty, and alumni. Emerson is particularly interested in entrepreneurship, ground up development, adaptive reuse, and innovative strategies to address the housing supply shortage. 

Emerson’s start in real estate began in 2019 as an apprentice for Herlihy Construction, a design-build general contractor based in Swampscott, MA. During that apprenticeship, Emerson discovered his passion for real estate. Since December 2020, Emerson has worked as a Project Manager for Minco Development Corporation in North Andover, MA. At Minco he oversaw several multifamily and mixed-use development projects in the Greater Boston area, with projects varying from $1MM to $100MM+ in total development costs. Additionally, Emerson led multiple projects that currently hold some combination of Passive House, LEED, and Fitwel certification. Working closely with both the Founder and the Managing Director, Emerson gained experience in many aspects of the development process including acquisitions, underwriting, permitting, financing, legal, zoning, design, engineering, construction, property management, sustainability certifications, investor relations, dispositions, and strategy. 

Emerson graduated with a B.S. from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University where he played for the Men’s Lacrosse Team. In addition to his undergraduate degree, he completed the Commercial Real Estate Certificate program at Boston University. He also holds a Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson License and a Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License. Originally from New Hampshire, Emerson now lives in Marblehead with his wife, son, and English Bulldog.
