My career began in architecture and construction, where I spent several years leading the design and delivery of large-scale commercial projects across Lagos and Kigali. While that experience grounded me in how buildings come together, I became increasingly interested in how real estate assets create value over time, from investment strategy and ideation to long-term performance.

Pursuing the MSRED at MIT in 2019 was a turning point; It gave me the tools and perspective I needed to make a meaningful career pivot from design execution to real estate asset management.  The program sharpened my skills in finance, development economics, and ESG strategy, while also giving me the confidence to navigate a new cultural and professional environment after relocating to the U.S.

Since completing the program in 2020, I’ve brought that training into practice as an Asset Management Director for a REIT in Washington, D.C., where I oversee a portfolio of Class-A office buildings. In my responsibilities ranging from capital deployment, budgeting, leasing, reporting, and strategic planning,  I draw daily on both my design background and the strategic foundation the MSRED provided. Looking back, the MSRED didn’t just help me shift careers, it helped me find a bigger platform for impact, and a community that continues to shape how I lead and grow in the industry.
