Financial Data Engineer/Livestock Farmer

Prior to joining MIT, Sam was a financial data engineer for prop-techs and private equity firms, working with predictive modeling, databases, and financial systems. Sam has worked in the real estate field since the beginning of his career, both in the startup world, and as a project manager for large brokerages such as Coldwell Banker and LandVest. He holds an MA in Economics and Data Science from Macalester College.

Sam has deep roots in agriculture and continues to help run his family’s livestock farm in central Massachusetts. This experience has shaped his approach to real estate development, emphasizing the integration of sustainable practices with data-driven decision-making.

At MIT, Sam aims to explore innovative solutions in real estate development. He is particularly interested in addressing industry challenges through data, and contributing to the development of sustainable, value-driven projects.

Sam also has his Broker’s license in Massachusetts and works part-time as a consultant and project manager focusing on residential and agricultural transactions.
