Sophia Campbell is a dual degree MSRED and City Planning student in her second year, with a focus on affordable housing development and policy. Sophia project managed the winning proposal of the 2025 Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Affordable Housing Development Competition, leading a team of 8 city planners and architects to propose an adaptive reuse of South Boston High School into deeply affordable senior housing. She has recently completed a summer development internship at the Portland Housing Authority, focusing on the rehabilitation and redevelopment of public housing projects throughout Portland, Maine.

Prior to MIT, Sophia worked at HR&A Advisors, a nationwide planning and real estate consultancy. There, she supported a range of client-facing projects including state-level housing plans and data dashboards, city housing and homelessness strategies, and local real estate market analyses. Previously, she conducted economics research in fiscal and monetary policy at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC.

Sophia has a background in disability advocacy and is committed to improving the accessibility and inclusivity of the built environment.
