Viet Nguyen

Viet joins MIT from San Diego, CA with six years of experience working in the commercial real estate industry at JLL. He began his career as a research intern focusing on local San Diego research before transitioning to a national research role focused on data quality. During his time at JLL, Viet led multiple projects to ensure data integrity across many facets of the business for stakeholders and clients. Viet was also active with the Asian Business Professionals Network at JLL, an employee resource group, launching and co-leading the Southwest Region chapter. 

Entering MIT, Viet is excited to build upon his existing real estate knowledge and learn from professors, classmates, and industry leaders. He is particularly excited to learn about new technologies and innovations impacting real estate. He intends to pursue a career in development, seeking to improve the walkability of communities and reduce the carbon footprint emitted by buildings. 

Viet is originally from Fresno, CA and received a BA in Economics with a minor in Political Science from UC San Diego. In his free time, he enjoys surfing, skiing, live music, and cheering on the best basketball team in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers.
